In honor of AINA Past President, Kapil Sethi, MD, who passed away in 2024, the Teaching Award have been established as a new award in 2025, this award will recognize an Indian American Neurologists who is an outstanding teacher and has promoted teaching excellence in their career.

Kapil Sethi, MD, FRCP With a heavy heart and sadness we remember, Dr Kapil Sethi,MD, FRCP one of the past presidents of Association of Indian Neurologists in America (AINA) and recipient of the 2017 AINA Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Sethi was a combination of a brilliant mind, great musical skills and great sports talent. He did his MBBS from Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, India followed by his MD in Internal Medicine and DM in Neurology from PGIMER, Chandigarh, India. He moved to England for MRCP and then Augusta, Georgia for residency. He stayed back as a faculty at Augusta University where served for all of his academic career. He met his wife of 45 +years Ranjit while in medical school who herself is a caring neurologist. Dr. Sethi retired about 2 yrs ago from Augusta to enjoy his retirement in beautiful Asheville, North Carolina. His daughter Aditi, also a palliative care physician, was working there and they wanted to be close to family. More about Dr. Sethi. Read the Movement Disorders remembrance of Dr. Sethi.
